WINTER PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Win­ter Park­ing Restric­tions will improve emer­gency vehi­cle access

In order to pro­vide reli­able access for emer­gency vehi­cles, the City is imple­ment­ing Win­ter Park­ing Restric­tions. The restric­tions are needed because of the high lev­els of snow accu­mu­la­tion this win­ter, result­ing in the nar­row­ing of streets. Win­ter Park­ing Restric­tions will take effect at 8 a.m. Thurs­day, Feb. 11. This means park­ing will be banned on the even side of non-Snow-Emergency-routes until April 1, unless con­di­tions allow the City to lift the ban earlier.

Peo­ple park­ing in Min­neapo­lis must fol­low these park­ing restric­tions or they could be tick­eted and towed (very costly) :

Thurs­day, Feb. 11 – Win­ter Park­ing Restric­tions begin
Begin­ning at 8 a.m., park­ing is pro­hib­ited on the EVEN side of non-Snow-Emergency-routes. Park­ing is allowed on Snow Emer­gency routes and the ODD side of non-Snow Emergency-routes.

This brings back mem­o­ries of win­ters past when they would declare win­ter park­ing in Sep­tem­ber, just to be on the safe side, and we’d all fight all win­ter over half the park­ing.  Nice that it’s only a month and a half.  Nicer that I don’t need a park­ing space.
